Tye Syorm Reroarl MAY 20 09 Council Activities Since the last newsletter the City Council: • Heard a report on Lake Minnetonka Communications Commission activities by Representative Patrick Hodapp. • Discussed a request from the South Tonka Little League that would allow commercial advertising signs to be placed on ball-field fences in Freeman Park. This discussionis continuedto the May 11 City Council regular meeting. • Approved a proposal from WSB and Associates for engineering services for a feasibility report and surveying for Harding Ln., Harding Ave., and Smithtown Ln. for presentation at the May 11 council meeting. • At its March 23 Regular and April 6 Special meetings, council discussed the future of the Southshore Center An up date on this topic was provided atthe April 13 regular meeting. • Approved a $5 per court/per hour reservation/user fee for for-profit organized group use of the tennis courts. • Reviewed a draft ordinance that would allowthe city to provide administrative enforcement of certain city code violations which would provide a more efficient and cost-effective option than criminal prosecution or civil litigation. • Reviewed and discussed the city's monthly financial reporting format. • Recognized 15 members of Boy Scout Troop #424 vino received their Citizenship in the Community merit badge.
