The Shorewood Park Commission will be touring the following
parks:
Tuesday, July 8, 2003
at 6:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. Sharp - -Meet at Shorewood City Hall
6:10 p.m. Continue to Shorewood Public Works Building for brief
tour of facility (Q &A back on board the bus)
6:30 p.m. Silverwood Park for brief review of the practice tennis
court (Q &A on board the bus)
6:40 p.m. South Shore Community Park for brief review of new sign
and lay -out
is 7:00 p.m. Deephaven Park (Main Beach Area) to review new multi -
purpose surface ( Deephaven Park rep will be present)
7 :45 p.m. Chanhassen Skate Park (Todd Hoffman, of Chanhassen
Park and Rec will give a brief overview of current park
improvements and activities)
8:10 p.m. Chanhassen Lake Ann Park (Hoffman will give a brief
explanation of the parks users and
development/management philosophy)
8:30 p.m. Sedge Meadow and Oak Savanna at U of M Arboretum
(Hwy 41 and 5) for a brief tour and explanation to be
conducted by Comissioner Davis (as relates to the Freeman
Park Wetland discussions)
9 :10 p.m. Chaska Dairy Queen
No action will be taken

Silverwood Park:
In the Master Plan for Silverwood Park the recommendations for further review are the
following: Replacing the tennis courts with a magic square, consider adding a warming house for
free skaters, and study the use of the trail.
After touring the park should these services still be reviewed for further action?

• South Shore Community Park:
In the Master Plan for South Shore Community Park the recommendation for further action are:
Possibly adding horseshoe pits and picnic area in the park.

Deephaven Park (Main Beach Area):
Is the sports court a facility that would be an opportunity for one of Shorewood's parks?
Advantages and disadvantages of providing a facility such as a sport court?

After touring the Skate Park are there any services /improvements that could be offered at the
South Shore Community Park to promote usage of the park?
Lake Ann Park:
What type of facilities /services did you find at Lake Ann Park that you would like to see at
Shorewood's parks?
Are there any "best" practices with this park that stand out that could be implemented in
Shorewood Parks?
Sedge and Oak Bog- Arboretum
Were there any ideas from this project that you would like to see carried over to the Freeman
Park Wetland?
