MINUTES
July 17, 1978
The meeting of the Shorewood Park Commission was called to order by
Chairman John Breckheimer at Cathcart Park at 8:00 PM, July 17th,
1978.
ROLL CALL
Present were:
John Breckheimer
Don Goettleman
Gordon Lindstrom
Jean Raby
Roger Stein
Conrad Schmid
Others present were Councilmen Bill Keeler and Jim Heiland.
JUDY McCUSKEY RESIGNED
It was suggested that a letter of thanks be sent to Judy McCuskey
commending her on her good work on the Park Commission; signed by
the Mayor.
BIKE TRAIL
The bike trail was discussed and it was noted that Jim Norton was
proceeding on securing bids. The original suggestion of starting
the trail from the school toward Hwy 19 was vetoed. The members
pointed out that the main amount of hazards of traffic are from
Hwy 19 to Eureka Road; therefore start the trail at 19 toward
Eureka Road is best.
This issue is to be brought to the Council for approval.
MINNETONKA LAKE SHORE ACCESS FOR PUBLIC USE
Conrad Schmid suggested.that a survey be made to find access for
public use to Minnetonka Lake Shore. He and Don Goettleman will
make this survey. Conrad's experiences with other area accesses
has been pretty frustrating.
CATHCART RECREATIONAL BUILDING
The up -to -date leg work on the Cathcart Recreational Building was
presented by John Breckheimer. Plans and specifications have been
placed with two plumbing and 2 masonry firms for quotes.
An area electrician has volunteered to wire the building if we
can get an OK from the Union.
Vern Watten will make the plans for the roof of the building so
carpenters can be contacted for bids.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting.adJourned at 9:10 PM; the next meeting will be at
Manor Park at 7:30 PM - August 7th.
