060578 PK MINCITY OF.SHOREWOOD PARK COMMISSION June 5, 1978 INFORMATIONAL MEETING Since there was not a quorum present, no official meeting was held. Information was shared and business to be enacted in the future was discussed. ROLL CALL Members present were: John Breckheimer, Gordy Lindstrom, Roger Stein, and Jean Raby. CHAIRMAN RESIGNS John Breckheimer reported that Jim Robin had resigned from the Park Commission and that the decision was final. CATHCART BUILDING Breckheimer reported that the building had been turned down by the Council and at another meeting it had been approved. John will be the liaison between the Park Commission and Builders. BIKE TRAIL The trail plan was accepted by the Council and is in the hands of the City engineer. COUNCIL MEETINGS Roger Stein said that he would talk to Mayor Frazier about having a scheduled time for Park Commission reports at the Council Meeting. MEETINGS AT THE PARKS It was suggested that -we hold a Park Board Meeting at each of the three parks starting after the June 19th meeting. MANOR PARK It was suggested that the Park Commission needed to get information about the HUD money that will be available for Manor Park and to start making plans for it's use. NEW COMMISSION MEMBER Lindstrom reported that Don Goettelman was interested in being on the Park Commission. He recommended that Goettleman' apply* QUESTIONS RAISED 1 ) What is the fiscal year? 2) What is the budget for parks and how is it spent? HOCKEY BOARDS AND NETS Breckheimer reported that the hockey boards needed to be repainted. ATTENDANCE 40 It was suggested that the rule: a Park Commission Member resign, if he has missed three meetings in a row; without an excuse, be enforced. Jean Raby Acting Secretary
