CITY OF SHOREWOOD
March 20, 1978
ROLL CALL
The Shorewood Park Commission meeting was called to order at 8:00
PM by Chairman, John Breckheimer at the Minnewashta Elementary
School. Present were: John Breckheimer, Gordon Lindstrom, Roger
Stein, Jean Raby and Councilman Jim Heiland.
SMITHTOWN BIKE TRAIL
Lindstrom reported that the Council approved $300.00 to pay for
students to design the Smithtown Bike Trail.
CO. RD. #19 BIKE TRAIL
The Council agreed to send another letter to the Hennepin County
Engineer requesting a bike trail on County Road 19. Wiltsey, Clerk,
is going to check to see if County Road 19 is going to have a new
coating over the entire width.
CATHCART BUILDING
The Cathcart Building has been put out for bids with a completion
date of October 15, 1978.
SOUTH TONKA FIELD
Jim Heiland reported that the village is hoping

PARK COMMISSION VACANCY
The Shorewood Newsletter will announce the vacancy of the Park Commi-
sion seat created by the resignation of Tom Schmid. It was recommend-
ed that we interview interested candidates at the April 17th Park
Commission meeting.
RAILROAD PROPERTY
Roger Stein reported that the railroad had not been abandoned; but
it is anticipated. The Hennepin County Park System would like to
buy the property for a bike trail.
BADGER BUILDING
Jim Heiland reported that the building at Badger is to be moved be-
tween the Tennis Court and the Hockey Rink. John recommended that
it be painted and have a new roof. He did not think siding was
necessary.
CARMICHAEL CONTRIBUTION
Bruce Carmichael reported that the broom ball tournament was success-
ful and he donated $100. to the Park Commission. John moved that the
$100. be used toward new netting and cages for hockey rinks. Gordy
seconded. Motion carried. Gordy will present the money to the Council.
