ROLL CALL
The Shorewood Park Commission.meeting was called to order at 8:00
P.M_ by Chairman, Jim Robin, at the Minnewashta Elementary School.
Present were: Jim Robin, Conrad Schmid, John Breckheimer, Gordon
Lindstrom, Roger Stein, Jean Raby, and Judy McCuskey. Bill Keeler
and guest Bill Wyatt were also present.
MEETING SCHEDULE
Discussion was held in regard to.changing the meeting night, but
due to conflicts, the decision was made to retain the 1st and 3rd
Mondays for meetings. March 20th - April 3rd & 17th - May 1st and
15th and June 5th and 19th.
REPORT FROM BILL KEELER - FUTURE COUNCIL BUSINESS
1. Smithtown Bike Trail will be discussed at the next Council Meet-
ing. Specifically, approval of design budget of $300.00 for
student time.
2. County Road 19 - Bike Trail
Our.Council must send a letter to the Hennepin County Engineer
requesting the bike trail, Excelsior and Tonka Bay Councils
should also su bmit letters. A new coating over the entire
width of the road will supposedly be done.. The road shoulder
. will need.to be striped. Signs marking the bike trail are also
necessary. Tom Schmid has notes and a letter will be compiled
to present.to the Council; who will in turn send a letter to
the County.
3. Cathcart Field = Bids are now being taken for the building.
u� South Tonka Field
6000.00 is available for excavation and removal of black dirt,
adding of fill, then grading and leveling for proper drainage.
Discussion - Possibility of Little League and Babe Ruth League
raising and contributing some money.
Discussion - Mining permit proposal east of Shorewood Plaza
Shopping Center for removal of the hill and construction of a
high -rise apartment and townhouses.
Discussion - Proposed construction of apartment building and
townhouses west of the Shorewood Plaza Shopping Center.
Discussion - Possible ways to sell black dirt from South Tonka
Field.
Motion; by Conrad Schmid, seconded by Judy McCuskey, to let bid
for South Tonka Field for removal of black dirt in exchange for
sandy clay fill with grading for proper drainage. Motion carried
unanimously.
Jim Robin will take recommendation to the Council Meeting March
• 13th, after it has been looked over by Engineer Norton.

5. Judy McCuskey advised us regarding the Silver Lake area;
the 250 - 300 acres is owned by Near Mountain Properties
4900 I D S Center.
6. Roger Stein will talk to Cliff French Superintendent of
Parks, regarding the Railroad's Property.
7. ITEMS THE PARK COMMISSION WANT. TO TAKE TO COUNCIL - MARCH
13th MEETING.
1. Smithtown Bike Trail - approval of design budget $300.

2. County Road 19 Bike Trail - Letter from Council to the
Hennepin County Engineer requesting it.
3. South Tonka Field - Lot bids for excavation, fill and
grading.
4. Cathcart Field - Building is ready to be let for bids
Wardon Lindstrom took items to City Hall)
John Breckheimer and Gordon Lindstrom will attend the
Council meeting to represent the Park Commission.
