MINUTES - July 19, 1976
• The July 19th meeting of the Park Commission of the City of Shorewood
was called to order by Bill Wyatt. Breckheimer, Drews, Gray, Heiland
and Raby. were in attendance. Frazier, Haugen, Keeler and Huttner also
attended.
The following budget was proposed:
Community Services $ 1900.
Beach 700
Summer Programs 900
Attendants 1500
Satellites 570

CATHCART BUILDING
Haugen moved that architect, Vern Watten, be instructed to draw up
• plans for the model of Cathcart Building presented to Park Commission
and to approve its construction if it does not exceed the HUD Funds.
The motion was seconded and passed.
ACADEMY AVENUE PARK
Frazier told the commission that an acre of Shorewood property on
Academy Avenue needed to be cleaned up and possibly made into a small
neighborhood park. Drews and Keeler will talk to neighborhood resi-
dents to try to organize a group to fix up this land for neighborhood
use.
NEXT MEETING
The next Park Commission meeting will be August 2, at 7:30 p.m. A
young woman who would like the job of developing a long range park plan
for Shorewood will be invited to present her ideas at that meeting.
