RESOLUTION NO. 11 -066
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP
REGISTRATIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood City Council supports and believes
committed domestic partners should have equal access to employer provided benefits,
hospital visitation rights, etc; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted an Ordinance providing for the
registration of committed domestic partners, and;
WHEREAS, many Minnesota cities have adopted similar Ordinances over the
past 20 years; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes this is an issue of statewide significance.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood that the State of Minnesota move to pass legislation allowing committed
domestic partners to have their relationship legally recognized.
