Please attend the tree discussion meeting, hosted by the City of Shorewood in cooperation with Mr.
Tomlinson, to discuss the creek bank improvement project Mr. Tomlinson allowed me to host the
meeting on his back patio which has a good view of the ravine and is centrally located.
The item for discussion is tree removal.
Plans will be present for your viewing and discussion. The trees have been marked as follows: orange
ribbon for need to be removed, pink ribbon for would like the tree to be removed, and green ribbon
was given to the homeowners for please save this tree.
I did fill out a tree order fonn for 10 trees to be planted near the roadway. Spacing would be 50 feet
apart, parallel to the road at least 20 feet from the road edge. The tree order form is due March 1 so I
requested two of each of the following; fall fiesta sugar maple, bur oak, river birch, serviceberry and
balsam fir.
Please join myself, Ed Matthiesen from Wenck and Associates, Joe Barren from Minnehaha Creek
Watershed District to further discuss the project.
The Minnesota Conservation Corp. could mobilize as early as March 12, 2012, to conduct tree
thinning. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please feel free to contact James Landini with any
