RESOLUTION NO. 13 -073
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 504 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
WHEREAS, on October 28, 2013, the City Council of the City of Shorewood adopted
Ordinance No. 504 entitled "An Ordinance Amending Chapter 701 of the Municipal Code
Relating to Animal Regulations';
WHEREAS, the City staff has prepared a summary of Ordinance No. 504 as follows:
1. The purpose of this ordinance is to provide regulations for the ownership and
possession of animals to preserve the public health, safety and welfare, and guard
against public animal nuisances.
2. This ordinance includes, but is not limited to, dog licensing requirements,
requirements for permitted animals, animal breeders, animals running at large,
impoundment authority, animal nuisances, confinement of certain animals,
impounded animal redemption, rabies control, abuse /neglect of animals,
dangerous animals and potentially dangerous animals, penalties for violation, and
enforcement.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD:
The City Council finds that the above title and summary of Ordinance No. 504
clearly informs the public of intent and effect of the Ordinance.
2. The City Clerk is directed to publish Ordinance No. 504 by title and summary,
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 412.191, subdivision 4.
