believed it would be a good source of income for this group.
Edmondson suggested this recommendation be forwarded to the City Council for a

Clapp suggested the smaller trails be included on the map. Nielsen stated it becomes very
cluttered when all the trails are included. Edmondson stated the new library should also
be included on the map.

Filipi stated he believed we need to find a way to find the map printing.

EVENTS — EXCELSIOR AND SHOREWOOD MEET
Clapp stated Tonka Bay does not have any events in the works.
Filipi updated the group on Concert in the Parks events. He noted there is one concert
remaining. Attendance has been good but not what he has expected. Wolfe stated they
need to do a better job promoting and welcomed any suggestions from group members.
Filipi discussed the budget and vendors.
Promotional ideas were discussed for vendors at the concerts The final concert is on
September 18.
Shorewood discussed their recent and fiiture events. The Country Hoedown's second
year was very well attended. The Legion provided -food, and no alcohol was sold. The
Movie in the Park will be Friday, September 13. Joey Nova's is partnering with the City
and will sell pizza, snacks and beverages. The Southshore seniors will be selling popcorn.

7. OTHER BUSINESS
Hartmann suggested the movie choice should be geared to all ages or specific age group.
Commissioners discussed the possibility of hockey and free skating at Excelsior
Commons. Filippi noted it is on their Council agenda.
In response to a question about the concession stand, Wolfe noted the concession stand is
not winterized.
Wolfe noted City equipment is not allowed on the lake for insurance reasons. He stated
the City is on board conceptually to having a rink in the Commons, . but the question is
where it would be located.
Mangold noted private companies are now flooding lakes and preparing rinks for
customers now. He stated perhaps Excel sior-couId hire someone to do that,
Commissioners discussed the pros and cons of flooding the tennis courts. Clapp stated ice
will not hurt the tennis court.
