OPEN HOUSE ABOUT LAKE MINNETONKA LRT REGIONAL TRAIL
CROSSING AT COUNTY ROAD 19 IS SEPTEMBER 10
The public is invited to an open house about possible at-grade safety improvements to the area where
the Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail crosses County Road 19 in Shorewood and Tonka Bay. Park
District staff and the consultant will share proposed recommendations for improvements to the crossing
at the open house. Details are as follows:

Staff and the consultant will give brief presentations about the proposed recommendations at 4:15 and
5:15 PM.
This year, Three Rivers Park District has been working with a consultant and other partners — including
the cities of Shorewood and Tonka Bay as well as Hennepin County — to conduct a study to evaluate
possible ways to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety at the crossing.
The Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail travels from Hopkins, through Minnetonka, Deephaven,
Greenwood, Excelsior, Shorewood, Tonka Bay, Chanhassen and Victoria on its way to Carver Park
Reserve. An estimated 415,000 visits are made each year to the 14.4-mile aggregate-surface trail. For
