I am partial to the Park Commission as I am an avid lover of all things outdoors and have participated in countless outdoor volunteer projects over the past few decades. I served for 6 years (2009-2015) on the board of directors of our Home Owners Association in Plymouth and helped organize battles against buckthorn, maintain the trees on the property and other landscaping concerns (in addition to the many other elements of Association Management). I served for a year on the Systems Accountability Committee for the Robbinsdale School District in 2014, providing feedback to the School Board for review. I currently am working full-time Mon-Friday as a Continuous Improvement Manager at General Mills in Golden Valley. Additionally I am happily married with 3 young children (ages 6, 8 and 9). Therefore, I don't have an abundance of spare time available to offer. But, I could definitely participate in the meetings every 2nd Tuesday (I didn't miss a single monthly board meeting in 6 years! .... so I'm used to it!), and I would be willing to help out as much as I can in between meetings. I like to collaborate with others and regularly serve as a facilitator in my role at work to bring different groups together to accomplish good things. I tried to utilize the Online Application, but the link doesn't seem to be working. You can feel free to reach out to me anytime at 763-355-2339 or at this e-mail address, gsjan17@gmail.com. If there isn't a spot available on the Park Commission, I am open to serving on another Commission as well. Thanks so much! Janet Sylvester 763-355-2339 1
