CITY OF SHOREWOOD
A RESOLUTION APPROVING XCEL ENERGY AGREEMENT FOR BURIAL OF OVERHEAD
POWER UTILITY (OPPIDAN TIF IMPROVEMENTS)
CITY PROJECT NO. 16 - 05
WHEREAS, The City of Shorewood has entered into an agreement with Xcel Energy to bury
overhead power utility lines as part of the Oppidan Senior Living Development Tax Increment Financing
district, on Chaska Road, and
WHEREAS, The City desires to bury the existing overhead Xcel Energy power utility lines as
part of the infrastructure improvements for the Oppidan Senior Living development at 6000 Chaska
Road, and
WHEREAS, Xcel Energy has estimated the cost to bury their power utility lines to be
$117,238.52, and
WHEREAS, The City has budgeted $150,000 for the burial of the overhead power lines as part
of the TIF district, and
WHEREAS, The City staff has reviewed the draft Agreement and recommends Council
approval for the burial of the overhead power utility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SHOREWOOD, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Council approve the Xcel Energy agreement "Statement of Work Requested ",
2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute the Xcel
Energy agreement "Statement of Work Requested ", and any amendments to the Agreement.
