Project Notificationr is Underway! I, L � I Yellowstone • Road, Park Street, Chaska Road This newsletter is intended to provide you with information on upcoming work that will be occurring adjacent to your property. The City of Shorewood will be continuing the extension of watermain from the intersection of Yellowstone Trail and Minnetonka Drive to Chaska Road. The Contractor completed the installation of watermain from the intersection of Yellowstone Trail and Minnetonka Drive, to the east along Yellowstone Trail, south along Glencoe Road, and east along Park Street to Pheasant Street in 2016. The installation of watermain crossing TH 7 was completed this past winter. The Contractor will continue the extension along Chaska Road, as well as the remaining restoration items along roadways disturbed north of TH 7, in the spring /summer of 2017. Although we work to minimize inconveniences, construction activities will generate dust, noise, and temporary inconveniences. Construction will generate vibrations from time -to -time, which may feel uncomfortable or may rattle objects in your home. We request your patience in the matter and suggest that, for your protection, you take a moment to look around your home and locate items of value which may be subject to falling off of shelves or walls due to vibration. As a precaution, please remove these items and store them safely until the construction activities are completed. It will be the project team's goal to minimize the impact to residents during construction activities. As with all construction projects, patience and communication are the greatest assets to completing a successful project. Therefore, we request your patience in dealing with construction issues and invite you to contact us with your questions, comments, and concerns as they arise throughout the project. Schedule The contractor is anticipated to return to the project the week of April 10, depending on roac weight restrictions. The anticipated remaining project activities include the following: Roadways north of TH 7 Settlement areas and areas where turf has been fully established will be re- graded anc re- seeded. 2. The final lift of asphalt pavement will be placed. The road will be reduced to one lar during paving operations. Traffic will be allowed to travel on the new surface within few hours after the pavement has been placed. Chaska Road 1. Extension of watermain and installation of new storm facilities. 2. Asphalt paving and turf restoration. Schedule updates will be communicated to residents through email notifications, text message notifications, and updates to the City's road construction projects website. Lawn Irrigation Systems? If you have a lawn irrigation system that was repaired during the watermain extension in 2016, please take a moment to test your system to make sure the system is working properly. Please notify Matt Havlik if additional repairs are necessary. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your driveway, lawn, or newly planted trees, please don't hesitate to contact the onsite project representative. Special deliveries, weddings, graduations, garage sales, etc. If you are anticipating a special delivery, open house, or any other activity during the summer construction schedule, please notify the on -site project representative of the time and date in which this will occur. The contractor and project staff will do their best to provide access. If Matt is unavailable, please call Paul Hornby at the number provided. Garbage Service During construction, garbage haulers may nc have access to the front of your home. Plea add your home address to your trash receptacle using a piece of tape and a permanent maker. Please have your trash receptacles curbside by 6:00 am on collectio days. If necessary, the contractor will move your trash receptacle to a location accessiblf the garbage hauler. i Disturbed areas will be restored with topsoil and seed following final construction operations. Please don't hesitate to water your lawn if it is a hot day and you notice the seedbed is dry. Any additional watering you can provide will only result in a healthier thicker lawn. Please refrain from walking on or mowing your new lawn. Please refrain from mowing your lawn shorter than 3- inches for at least one year following seed placement and continue to water your lawn at least 2- inches of water a week, especially during the months of June, July, and August. • Please observe posted detour and warning signs. • Please do not park vehicles on streets under construction. • Slow down and watch for uneven surfaces. • Stay alert! Watch for signs, equipment, and workers. • Please remind children to stay away from the construction site, equipment, and stockpiles of materials. in Access through the site may change throughout the day as construction progresses, your patience is appreciated.
