Pursuant to Minnesota Laws 1995, Chapter 105 we are updating the
Hennepin County Law Library's Ordinance Collection. (See attached) .
We are asking for your help to bring this important part of the
collection up -to -date.
The last revision for Shorewood was sent to the Library October
30th, 1990. Would you please check your records to see if any new,
amended, or repealed ordinances have passed since that date and
send those changes to the Law Library? If the code has been
recodified, please send a new copy. I would also appreciate it if
you would add the Law Library to your mailing list for future
updates.

U the effect of alcohol consumption on highway safety and on the ability of
drivers to safely operate motor vehicles ads
a summary of the laws of Minnesota on operating a motor vehicle while
under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substances and
the legal penalties and financial consequences resulting from violations
of laws prohibiting the operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of
alcohol or drugs.
This chapter shall also include information on the dangers of driving at
alcohol concentration levels below the legal limit for alcohol concentration, and
specifically state that:
(1) there is no "safe" level or amount of alcohol that an individual can
assume will not impair one's driving performance or increase the risk of a crash; a
(2) a driver may be convicted of driving while impaired whether or not the
driver's alcohol concentration exceeds the legal limit for alcohol concentration;
and
(3) a person under the legal drinking age may be convicted of illegally con-
suming alcohol if found to have consumed any amount of alcohol,. and if that
person was driving during or after the consumption of alcohol is subject to driv-
er's license suspension.
Sec. 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
Sections 1 to 3 are effective Julv 1, 1995.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 375.52, is amended to read:
375.52 REVISION AND CODIFICATION.
A county may revise and codify and print in book, pamphlet or newspaper
form any general and special laws, ordinances, resolutions and rules in force in

the county. The codification shall be a sufficient publication of any ordinance
included in it and not previously published in a newspaper if a substantial quan-
tity of the codification is printed for general distribution to the public. The
county board may make a reasonable charge for the cost of printing and distri-
bution of ordinances or a codification of ordinances. A copy of anv ordinances
adopted by the county must be furnished to the county law library or its desig_
nated depository. A county, upon request. shall be reimbursed a reasonable
charge by the county law library for a copy furnished.
Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 415.021, is amended to read:
