1. Project Update: The 2018 Sealcoat Project is about to begin! Sealcoating operations are
beginning the week of August 20, 2018, weather permitting. Please DO NOT park your
vehicle(s) on yourstreet beginning August 20, 2018 to allowthe contractorto complete
sealcoat improvements. Temporary" No Parking" signs will be posted 24 to 48 -hours prior to the
work and will be removed once parking is allowed. The contractor will maintain access throughout
the project site to residents; however, please expect delays.
The 2018 Sealcoat Project includes the roadways illustrated below:

2. Project Contacts: Matt Havlik will be onsite daily as the Construction Observer and can
answer any questions you may have. Matt can be reached at 612- 246 -9347. Katie Koscielak,

3. Changes to Construction Schedule: Please be aware the construction schedule may
change throughout the project as a result of weather conditions or other activities beyond the
contractor's control. Should a major change in the schedule be anticipated, we will do our
best to communicate the change through the city website or road construction eNews.
4. Property Owner Responsibility: The City of Shorewood and WSB strongly encourage
all residents and property owners to use the city website for construction activity updates, and to
sign up for construction activity email, text, or Facebook messages. The website is located at
hftp://www.ci.shorewood.mn.us.
Distribution of individual newsletters is not anticipated for this project because the infor-
mation is usually out of date due to weather conditions, or other unforeseen construction
conflicts.
5. Working Hours: Working hours for the City of Shorewood are limited to 7:00 a.m. to 7:00

6. Slow Down!: The Contractor is required to sweep the excess aggregate 30 days following
Larry Brown (952) 960 -7900 initial sweeping. Until the final sweeping of the roadway is completed, please be patient, drive
Public Works Director slowly and avoid turning sharply, braking quickly or tire spinning so the newly installed seal coat
is not disturbed. Traffic moving at higher speeds can create dust, limit visibility, and cause an
inconvenience to local residents. Increased speeds can also cause gravel to break loose from a

windshield. Flying rocks might also injure pedestrians, bicycle riders, or motorcyclists.
