RESOLUTION NO. 18 —110
RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 26245
SMITHTOWN ROAD
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood is in the planning stages of improving the storm water trunk system in
the western part of the city; and,
WHEREAS, City staff has been working cooperatively with the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District to
identify the future system requirements, and those requirements include facilities for rate and volume
control, as well as storage; and,
WHEREAS, existing city -owned land has been evaluated and determined it will not provide adequate
storage to accomplish those goals; and,
WHEREAS, City staff identified a parcel that does meet storage needs, and has negotiated a conditional
purchase agreement for the parcel,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Shorewood City Council:
1. Finds that this purchase is in the best interests of the city.
2. Approves the purchase of the property located at 26245 Smithtown Road, pursuant to the terms
of the agreement.
3. Directs staff undertake those steps necessary to complete the purchase of the property.
