RESOLUTION 18-115
A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE REFERRAL OF THE DRAFT
SHOREWOOD 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO
SURROUNDING JURISDICTIONS AND AFFECTED AGENCIES
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood is a municipal corporation organized and existing
under the laws of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood is required by Minnesota Statutes and the Metropolitan
Council to adopt and update its Comprehensive Plan on a periodic basis; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood has prepared a draft Comprehensive Plan intended to
meet the requirements imposed by Minnesota Statutes 473.864 and the Metropolitan Council's
guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the City conducted a public hearing on October 30, 2018 relative to the
adoption of the Comprehensive Plan and considered all received public comments; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council requires that, before the City may formally submit
its Comprehensive Plan to the Metropolitan Council, the Plan must be distributed to adjacent and
affected. jurisdictions for review and comment; and
WHEREAS, adjacent and affected jurisdictions are allowed a maximum of six months to
provide review and comment on the Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Shorewood City Council directs staff to
distribute the draft Comprehensive Plan 2040 to surrounding jurisdictions and affected agencies
for review and to the Metropolitan Council for informal review and comment.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD this 13"' day of November,
2018.
