ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
BADGER PARK PHASE III IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
(PLAYGROUND REHAB)
Notice is Hereby Given that seated bids will be received by the City
of Shorewood, Minnesota, at the office of the City Clerk until 2:00 p.m.
CDT on April 29th: 2019. Shorewood City Hall is located at 5755 Coun-
try Club Road, Shorewood, Minnesota 55331. Bids will be publicly
opened and read at said time and place by representatives of the City
of Shorewood. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned
unopened.
Badger Park:
This !-acre site is located in central Shorewood adjacent to the city
hall. Rough grading of the site has already been completed in previous
phases of work done around the site. Work items include furnishing of
all labor and materials in accordance with the plans and specifications,
consisting primarily of the following project scope:
* Demolition and removals (asphalt trail, strip sod and topsoil, tree
removal (4), playground edger, play equipment and surface, existing
abandoned electrical line)
* Erosion control
* Common excavation and fine grading
* Utility connections (100 feet of 2" type K water service, 100 feet
of 4" SDR sewer pipe, cleanout, 30 feet of HPDE culvert with aprons)
- Stormwater pond modifications (250 feet of sand filter bench with
draintile and cleanouts, dewatering, outlet control structure)
. Playground preparation (375 feet of concrete play edger, 400 feet
of perimeter 4" drainfile)
- 3,900 square feet of concrete paving and 860 linear feel of 6' wide
asphalt trail
- Restoration and 1.1 acres turf grass seeding, 600 square yards of
native grass seeding, 90 feet of steel landscape edging, and 83 square
feet of river rock mulch)
- Add alternates to the base bid include 1,200 square feet of con-
crete and 41 linear feet of 6' wide asphalt trail, the substitution of 1,000
square feet of concrete in lieu of asphalt, and 320 linear feet of concrete
playground edger at nearby Freeman Park.
All bids shall be sealed and marked "Badger Park" and shall be so-
companied by a bidder's bond naming the City of Shorewood as Obli-
gee, certified check payable to the Clerk of the City of Shorewood or a
cash deposit equal to five perrnift (5%) of the amount of the bid, which
shall be forfeited ' to the City in the event that the bidder fails to enter
into a contract.
The City Council reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three
lowest bidders for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days after the date
and time set for the opening of bids, No bids may be withdrawn for a
period of thirty (30) days after the date and time set for the opening of
bids. Payment for the work will be by cash or check.
Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and according
to the contract documents prepared by the landscape architect and the
City of Shorewood.
Plans and specifications, proposal forms and contract documents
may be seen at the office of the City Clerk, Shorewood, Minnesota.

All bidders for this contract, including subcontractors and suppliers
that have 40 or more full -time employees, shall submit a certified copy
of their current Affirmative Action Certificate with their bid.
The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive
irregularities and informalities therein and further reserves the right to
award the contract to the best interests of the City-
