Background:
In June of this year, the City Council reviewed a request submitted by the
applicant requesting informal comments on a sketch plan for the same property that proposed
20 homes. This request has a similar design but proposes 14 single-family homes (for a density
of two units to the acre) and proposes the following contributions:
for street reconstruction for Seamans Drive or Eureka Road or trail construction
for a special fund to help create of affordable housing elsewhere
With the past applications, increased density and traffic were discussed as concerns and the
open space provided with a cluster development was discussed as a benefit.
Options:
Staff recommend that the Council discuss the proposal with the applicant. The
following are options that you may elect to take:
1. provide informal comments to the applicant directly on his proposal
2. refer the sketch to the Planning Commission for informal land use comments at the
