20-039CITY OF SHOREWOOD COUNTY OF HENNEPIN STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 20 -039 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE WOODSIDE ROAD AND WOODSIDE LANE STREET RECLAMATION AND WATERMAIN EXTENSION PROJECT, CITY PROJECT 19 -04 WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood authorized preparation of plans and specifications for the Woodside Road and Woodside Lane Street Reclamation Project and Watermain Extension Project, City Project 19 -04, on September 5, 2019; and WHEREAS, the City Council has directed WSB to prepare plans and specifications; and WHEREAS, WSB has prepared Plans and Specifications for the Woodside Road and Woodside Lane Street Reclamation Project and Watermain Extension Project, City Project 19 -04, to include reclamation of the existing street section, full -width bituminous overlay and minor drainage improvements as feasible along Woodside Road and Woodside Court. Additional utility improvements include sanitary sewer rehabilitation to reduce inflow and infiltration and the extension of new watermain, including services, along Woodside Road from Howards Point Road to Boulder Bridge Drive, Woodside Lane and Kathleen Court. WHEREAS, WSB has been directed by City Staff, with guidance from Blondo Consulting, to move forward with bidding the improvements in preparation for construction anticipated to begin in mid - summer of 2020, following final approval from the Minnesota State Archaeologist, the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council, and the Minnesota State Historical Preservation Office. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood, Minnesota: The Plans and Specifications were prepared by the WSB for such improvement. Said Plans and Specifications are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and according to Minnesota State Law an advertisement for bids, upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for 3 weeks, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be opened and considered by the city at the specified time and date, in the City Hall Council Chambers, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the Clerk for 5 percent of the amount of each bid.
