Dear Mr. Nielsen,
As we have discussed previously, I am please to present this request for vacation of
the Shorewood portion of Galpin Lake Rd, parcel at the Hwy 7 and Excelsior border.
Attached you will find the following:
1. Application on behalf of the potential owner with consent from the current
owner.
2. The legal description of the Shorewood and Excelsior parcels for vacation.
3. A previous email from Metro Right of Way with no objections.
4. A map representing Metro Right of Way comments.
5. A new rendering of the proposed site.
6. Survey of the area and adjacent property's.
Please let me. know if you have any questions or comments or need any further
information. Also, please confirm receipt of this application, its completeness, and
our schedule at the city meetings.

Mn /DOT has no objections with the vacation of the public road outlined
in pink.
Please make note of the following:
A) any street vacation accrues to the abutting fee owner. Since the area
shaded in light blue was acquired in a Highway easement, any vacation of
the east half of Galphin Lake road would go to the current underlying
fee holder and not to the owners of Lots 188 & 187. and
B) the portion of the public street outlined in dark blue was taken into
the Trunk Highway System by the writing of a Commissioner's Order (which
never get recorded) .... so saying that the vacation is north of TH 7 as
described in Final Certificate is not technically accurate. The
Final Certificate only describes real property (Lots and Blocks of
Quarter Quarters) that were acquired in a condemnation action. Direct
purchase acquisition documents are Warranty Deeds or Highway Easements.
