A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR MARY LAKE OUTLET
CITY PROJECT 19 -09
WHEREAS, Mary Lake is a landlocked with no natural outlet. The City has periodically
pumped down the water level to protect structures and private property from damage;
and
WHEREAS, staff has worked with Barr Engineering in preparing a technical memo that
evaluated several proposed alternatives with a recommended option to construct an 8"
diameter pipe outlet; and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) identifies improvements to provide an
outlet from Mary Lake in 2020; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has authorized Bolton & Menk to prepare a feasibility
study for the Mary Lake Outlet and will present the feasibility study prior to a public
hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Mn Rule 6115.0221 Subp 4.D requires a public hearing to be held in
order to issue a permit for the above work, and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SHOREWOOD, MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Public Hearing. The Council herby determines to call for and to hold a public
hearing on the Mary Lake Outlet project, City Project 19 -09, at a meeting of the
Council to be held on June 22, 2020, commencing at approximately 7:00 P.M.
2. Publication. The staff of the City is hereby authorized and directed to cause a
notice of public hearing in substantially the for attached to this resolution to be
published in the City's official newspaper not more than 28 and not less than 10
days prior to the scheduled public hearing date.
