07 July Shore Reportj 41 ` Y Flpr_tinn 7mFo Running for office and voting early o in- person absentee voting will be available at city hall for the 2020 primary election due to the COVID -19 pandemic. County and city elections departments are encouraging voters who wish to vote early before primary election day to vote absentee by mail. You may apply for a ballot at any time of the year at mnvotes.org. Deadlines for specific elections are listed in the table below. In- person absentee voting begins on June 26, 2020, at the Hennepin County Government Center. If you prefer to vote early in- person, you are required to wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines. If you are COVID - positive or symptomatic do not enter county facilities. If you decide to vote early by mail, please read the instructions carefully, complete all forms that are required and make sure it is properly witnessed and signed. The witness can be either a Minnesota registered voter or a Notary. The witness must sign the signature envelope and list their address. When completed, mail the ballots and forms as instructed and make sure it is received before Election Day. If you are not registered to vote, you will receive a registration application with your materials. Make sure the proper ID is witnessed on the envelope for new voter registration. Shorewood's Precinct 1 Polling Location Change! Precinct 1 (Enchanted and Shady Island neighborhoods) polling location has been changed to the Shorewood Community & Event Center located at 5735 Country Club Road. Due to the :iTiTi COVID pandemic the previous polling location has become unavailable.
