The City Council of the City of
Shorewood ordains:
SECTION l: Section VII, Public
Lands of Ordinance No. 79 of the City
of Shorewood is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section VII. Public Lands.
Because anew subdivision, as well
as commercial land de topment,
creates a need for parks -and play-
grounds as well as for str s, eight
per cent of the total area o oeach new
subdivision or its egpt>taient shall be
dedicated for such use. Such area
must be suitable for parks and play-
grounds and shall conform to the City
plan for parks and playgrounds
within the City. In lieu of requirin
dedication of an area for parks and
playgrounds, the City, at its option,
may require developer to pay into the
City Park Fund, a sum of money
equal to eight per cent of the value of
the raw land contained in the pro -
posed subdivision or commercial
land development and the value of the
raw land contained in the proposed
subdivision or development shall be
determined by the City Assessor, or
Excelsior, Minnesota as an alternative, it may require the
subdivider to pay into the City Park
Fund $500 for each lot, if the lot is a

The City Council of the City of
Shorewood ordains:

"Section 1: Service stubs have been
installed to serve some homes and
businesses presently located in the
City of Shorewood. For those homes
and businesses, the connections are
ready for use by the existing struc-
tures in the City."
SECTION 2: That Ordinance No.
74, Article III, Section 1, is amended
to read as follows:
"Section 1: A permit must be ob-
tained to connect the water system.
The fee for each permit shall be set
by Council resolution from time to
time. All house service lines shall be
inspected by the City Water Inspector
before the same is covered to insure
proper construction of,the line and
connection to the service stub. The
owner or contractor shall notify the
Water Inspector:, when the service
pipe is ready for ins((ection. A water
meter shall be obtained from the City

D. K. MORTENSON, being duly sworn, on oath says he is and during all times here stated has been the
vice president and general manager of the newspaper know as The Lake Minnetonka Sun -South Shore
Edition and has full knowledge of the facts herein stated as follows: (1) Said newspaper is printed in the
English language in newspaper format and in column and sheet form equivalent in printed space to at
least 900 square inches. (2) Said newspaper is weekly and is distributed at least once every week. (3) Said
newspaper has 50% of its news columns devoted to news of local interest to the community which it
purports to serve and does not wholly duplicate any other publication and is not made up entirely of
patents, plate matter and advertisements. (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the
municipalities which it purports to serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying
subscribers, has an average of at least 75% of its total circulation paid or no more than three months in
arrears and has entry as second -class matter in its local post- office (5) Said newpaper purports to serve
Carver County and the Cities of Excelsior, Deephaven, Shorewood, Greenwood, Woodland and Tonka
Bay in Hennepin County and it has its known office of issue in the City of Excelsior in Hennepin County,
established and open during its regular business hours for the gathering of news, sales of advertisements
and sale of subscriptions and maintained by the managing officer of said newspaper or persons in its
employ and subject to his direction and control during all such regular business hours and devoted
exclusively during such regular business hours to the business of the newspaper and business related
thereto. (6) Said newspaper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society. (7)
Said newspaper is made available at single or subscription prices to any person, corporation,
partnership or other unincorporated association requesting the newspaper and making the applicable
payment. (8) Said newspaper has complied with all foregoing conditions for at least one year preceding
the day or dates of publication mentioned below. (9) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State
of Minnesota prior to January 1, 1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed
by the Secretary of State and signed by the managing officer of said newspaper and sworn to before a
notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper.
