The meeting was called to order at 7: 50 P. M.andbhe> following
members of ,the Board were Present:
Al Clague, Walter Bean and George Dongoske
The first matte'rto be heard by the Board wa.s the public hearing
on the rezoning of part of Lot D,Maple Heights. Citizens of the area
opposing the rezoning stated their position and filed a petition' of
69 signers in opposition to the rezoning. The applicant for the re-
zoning,Mr. Dunklee, was given a full opportunity to present his side.
The unanimous opinion of the Board was that the property may
future because of the location lend itself more readily to commercial
use and may at some time be zoned commercial for the reason that such
change would have a minimum effect upon surrounding property values,
but that the Board should give primary consideration to the opinion
of the maJority of the residents of the area who have overwhelmingly
expressed a disapproval of rezoning. On motion of Mr. Clague,
by Mr. Bean, it was unanimously carried that the property not bere-
zoned commercial.
iVIINUTES OF 'THE MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD
JUNE 3, 1955
The next matter to be considered by the Board was the question
of granting to Mr. George Pea.body an extension of his on and off sale
3.2 beer license. Residents of the surrounding area objected to an
extension of the license on the ground that Mr. Peabody operated his
cafe in conjunction with a motel in a generally residential area which
is not conducive to good policing or living. Mr. and Mrs. Peabody
were given an opportunity to present their side of the question. No
specific violations were attributed to Mr. Peabody by those objecting.
petitions supporting both sides were received by the Board. The Board
tabled the matter stating they would make the decision at a future
special meeting.
Earl Wagner, Wayzata City Manager, spoke to the Board in regard
to operating a sCl.nitaryland fill through a sanitary disposal district
in which lake communities would be members. No decision or conclusion
was reached. Private haulers of garbage requested permission to

taken in regard to the Johnson property and the Town attorney was
