A special meejring of the Board. of the Town of Excelsior was held. at the home
of George Dongoske to set the bud.get and examine the rec6rd.s of the cler:k: and.
the' treasurer for the year ending March 13th. 1956. The :Board found them *n order.
Chairman Dongoske said that Howard Johnston had approached nim abeut the possibility
of Zoning a small lot at the entrance to Howard's Point as commercial. The
members present did not feel it advisable, but took no action.
The ~estion of charging for bUilding permits for churches .was also discussed
and Counsel xelly agreed to see whay other communities did about this matter.
Frank Kelly also agreed to attenl the weed meeting for the board.
It was suggested that the board advertise for a replacement for Herb Schmidt
when he leaves. Kendrick moved and :Bean seconded the motion to advertise for a man.
The :Board discussed the advisability of buying the Hudlow property, but agreed that
this matter belonged before the assembled people at the Town Meeting.
Kendrick moved and :Bean seconded the motion to raise Gus ArnGlds salary to 375.00
per month as of the first of March.1956.
The :Board agter some study reconL1'l1ended that the budget for 1957-58 be set as follows:
Poor Fund $3,500.00
lire Fund i,500.00
Cont.. " 3,000.00
General 7,000.00
Road 35.000.00
51,000.00
The meeting then adjourned.
