Kendrick, Clerk MINUTES OF THE TOWN BOARD MEETING April 6, 1956 All the members of the Town Board were present at the regular monthly meeting held Freiday the 6th of April, 1956 in the Village Council Rooms. The meeting was called to order by Chatman Dongoske. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read. Bid was received from Republic Creosoting Co. on road tar and Mr. Kendr1ck moved that their bid of '2125 per gallon for road tar be accepted, which was seconded by Walter Bean. Mr. Fenske, representing himself and his neighbors living on the same road, requested the township to maintain their road. The road is a private road but is. used by about five families at present, namely, Geo. Welch, Mary Welch, Mr. Westegard, Mrs. Florence Reed, Muriel Reed and the Kruegers, now building. Mr. Bean asked if ~uld be ri:UJmg to give up footage on each side of the road for the benefit of snow plowing and upkeep. In order to determine just how much footage the township would need they thought it best to take a look at the road in question, and then decide whether or not the township would take over maintenance of the road. Walter Rachel applied for and was granted an on and oft beer licence and cigarette licence for Rachel's Boat Livery, at which time he paid $6.00 for the 6 month period on cigarette licence. Mrs. Burdella Myers of Minnetonka Manor, asked if the township still planned on black- hopping the road in front of her place. Chairman Dongoske said it was on the agenda for the Spring as they were unable to do it last fall on account of the early winter weather. However, Mr. Bean said that the board would have Gust Arnold take a look at the road and where the road stakes are,and if the estimated cost of the job approaches $500 to get bids on it, - otherwise go ahead as promised last fall. Mrs. Clark of the Manor also asked to have her road posted with"dead-endlt or blocked oft in some way in order to keep people from getting stuck in the road. The board. agreed to take care of it,ppssibly by putting up posts with sebtchlite. The board unanimously approved the classification and the sale of tax forfeited land, lots 16, 17, 18, 19, Minnewashta area, inasmuch as it was not suitable to be used for public land. Mr. Bean moved that the clerk pay the bills that were presented to the board for approval and was seconded by Chairman Dongoske. It was announced that from now on Building Permits would be issued in fim cardboard to be posted on the premises. Councel Kell7 presented the letter received from the County Auditor in which was stated Greenwood's ration - 17.23% of property of the town of Excelsior as of January 10, 1956. and shall be paid to Greenwood. ... All applications received for the truck driver position were opened and discussed. Motion was made by Dud Kendrick that in view of the fact that Herbert Schmidt was able to readjust his personal obligations so that he will be able to continue on, we should fUe the applications received for possible use a.t a later date)should the position again be available. - Seconded by Mr. Bean.
