MINUTES OF THE TOWN BOARD MEETING
May 4, 1956
All the members of the Town Board were preselIt at the regular monthly meeting held
._ Friday, the 4th of Ma;y, 1956 in the Village Council Rooms.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dongoske. The minutes of the last
meeting were approved as read. .
A petition was presented to the board to vacate Hampton Lane in Echo Hills, 2nd
addition, signed by Kenneth Hampton, Virginia. Steinkamp, Ha.rea A. Steinkamp,
listed on petition as sole owners of real property abetting on the line of said
Hampton Lane.
Mr. Preush, owner of residence on HIth-Y' 1119, across from Tonks. Terrace, requested
the Board to consider permitting a trailer court be established on his property,
explaining that he had a sale for his property with the provision that the purchaser
be granted permission to operate a trailer court on this propertY', lbich is approximately
6i acres and runs 921 feet back off the road. Alter sane discussion the board turned
down the request inasmuch as they bad previouslT turned down a similar request concern.
ing the Hudlow property, a short time ago - on the agroupdilon that a trailer park is
an expense to taxpayers. Again they felt that the great number of children housed in
a trailer park adds greatl.y' to our school expense but not tJa the assessed valuation
of the township.
Mr. Ballard, Excelsior Village Clerk, reporting on the Excelsior Dump situation, said
that Mr. Studer suggested the dllll.p be fenced in and make a paying proposition out of
it. The village felt that the dump was getting out of control. It was agreed that
the Village Council and the Town Board get together and discuss the dump question
and cane to a definite decision, ... time to be decided later.
As requested by the Supervisor of Assessments of Hemepin CoUntY', 7 p.m. on June 19th,
1956 was set by the board as the time of meeting of Board of Review.
It was decided to advertise for bids on weed control in the township for the coming season.
Nothing definite was decided as to Glen Road in Amlee Acres. It was decided to
check the road further and then come to a decision.
Mr. Stempt', Mr. Jacobson & Council Grathwol, representing the Village of Greenwood,
came before the board in an attempt to settle the amount of cash actually payable
to Greenwood Village. Mr. Kendrick presented a statement as to how they arrived at
the cash on hand as of Jan. 12, 1956 - 17.2% of which is due Greenwood. Inasmuch
as no agreement was reached on the value of equipllent, no definite amount was arrived
at. However, it had been established that the amount would exceed $1000.00 so it was
moved and seconded that the Clerk issue a warrant in the amount of $1000.00, from th4
General Fund, interim settlemEl'lt on balance. Treasure., Kragness of the Township am
Treas. Harrington of Greenwood Village 'Will get together scmetime before our next
township meeting to arrive at a cash figure, based on the Treasurer1s books. Mr.
Dongoske, in the meantime, Willobtain the necessary appraisals on equipment and then
contact the Greenwood Village and arrange the final meeting for a mutual settlement.

practical.
