Cathcart Hockey Rink
Park and Rec Director Grout gave an overview on a painting party to paint the Cathcart Park
hockey boards. The Park Commissioners discussed volunteers painting the boards and wanted
to make sure that the hockey rink stayed in the Capital Improvement Program. It was
suggested that staff check with the city attorney to see if there would be any liability issues. As
for the color of the boards, the Park Commission is leaving that to staff. When determining a
date for the painting party it was suggested to stay away from the first weekend in September
and MEA weekend.
Hirner moved to present the idea of a painting party for the Cathcart Park hockey boards
to the next City Council meeting. Mangold seconded the motion. Motion carried 3 -0.
