Pre - construction Meeting

Last November, the City hosted an open house meeting at Minnewashta
Elementary School announcing the proposed construction of a new trail/sidewalk
on the south side of Smithtown Road from the Shorewood /Victoria border east to
the South Lake Minnetonka LRT Trail. The meeting was well received and the
City Council directed city staff to prepare plans for a project to commence in the
summer of 2013. A second open house was held on March 13 to present plans to
property owners most affected by the project.
On May 28, the City Council selected the contractor for the project and directed
city staff to proceed with the project. At our last open house meeting, we advised
residents that there would be one more open house prior to the start of
construction. The purpose of this meeting is to let people know more about the
construction schedule, and discuss preconstruction issues with property owners and
interested residents. The pre- construction open house is scheduled for
Wednesday, June 5, 2013, in the Media Center at Minnewashta Elementary
School, 26350 Smithtown Road, from 5 :00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
