RESOLUTION NO. 12 -039
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE SHOREWOOD
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN 2009 PERTAINING TO MSA ROUTES IN THE
CITY OF SHOREWOOD
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood adopted its current Comprehensive Plan in June of 2010;
and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan includes a'T'ransportation
Plan map, identifying Minnesota State Aid (MSA) routes for Shorewood; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended the removal of certain street segments from
the MSA system and the addition of other street segments to the system; and
WHEREAS, proposed MSA route revisions are shown on the map, attached hereto as Exhibit
A; and
WHEREAS, after legal notice was published in the official City newspaper, the Planning
Commission conducted a public hearing on 1 May 2012, to formally present the revised Transportation
Plan map to the public; and
WHEREAS, after holding the public hearing the Planning Commission voted to recommend to
the City Council that the revised Transportation Plan map be included in the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, having considered the recommendations of staff and the
Planning Commission, finds that it is in Shorewood's best interest to replace the current Transportation
Plan map with the revised Transportation Plan map, shown on Exhibit A, and incorporate the revised
map into the Transportation Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Shorewood City Council that the
Comprehensive Plan 2009 be amended to include the revised Transportation Plan map, subject to
review and comment by the Metropolitan Council.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Shorewood this 29th day of May, 2012.
