RESOLUTION NO. 12 -044
A RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATE AND
AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENTS FOR BIDS
FOR 2012 LIFT STATIONS 5 & 6 REHABILITATION PROJECT
CITY PROJECT 12 -06
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood designated $245,000 for lift station 5 & 6 rehabilitation
in the Capital Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Direction has identified lift stations within the City that need
rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared Specifications and Estimate dated June 12,
2012 for a project within the City of Shorewood for the 2012 Lift Stations 5 & 6 Rehabilitation
Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood,
Minnesota:
The Specifications and Estimate was prepared by the City Engineer for such
improvement. Said Specifications and Estimate are hereby approved and shall be
filed with the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and
according to MN State Law an advertisement for bids, attached hereto as Exhibit A,
upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications.
The advertisement shall be published for 2 weeks, shall specify the work to be done,
shall state that bids will be opened and considered by the city at 10:00 a.m. (CST), on
August 1, 2012, in the City Hall Council Chambers, and that no bids will be
considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit,
cashier's check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the Clerk for 5 percent of the
amount of each bid.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD this 25 day
of June, 2012.

RECEIPT AND OPENING OF PROPOSALS: Sealed proposals for the work described below will be received
at the Office of the City Administrator, City of Shorewood, 5755 Country Club Road, Shorewood, MN, 55331 until
10:00 AM on August 1, 2012 of at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work includes the construction of approximately:
• REHABILITATION OF CONCRETE WETWELLS
• CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PRECAST CONCRETE VALVE MANHOLES
• FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF PUMPING EQUIPMENT AND PIPING
• INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL CONTROLS
• RELATED REMOVALS AND RESTORATION
together with numerous related items of work, all in accordance with Plans and Specifications
COMPLETION OF WORK: All work under the Contract must be substantially complete by 10/31/2012. Final
completion must be accomplished by 11/21/2012.

BID SECURITY: A certified check or proposal bond in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount
bid, drawn in favor of City of Shorewood shall accompany each bid.
OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any
irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in their
discretion, the interest of the Owner would be best served thereby.
