RESOLUTION NO. 14 -018
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE
STATE SALES TAX CLARIFICATION BILLS
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood has a long and successful history of joint provision
of municipal services with our neighboring communities for public safety functions;
WHEREAS, the joint power organizations provide more proficient services than we
could afford on an individual city basis;
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood supports the clarifications to the new local
government sales tax exemption, which would add joint powers entities as eligible for the sales
tax exemption;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Shorewood strongly supports language to clarify the new local government sales tax exemption to
allow the full benefit of the exemption to be realized by all government entities, including joint
powers entities.
