RESOLUTION NO. 15 -049
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A 30 MILE PER HOUR
SPEED LIMIT ON GALPIN LAKE ROAD
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood, directed WSB and Associates to conduct a speed study
on Galpin Lake Road; and
WHEREAS, WSB and Associates, Inc. conducted said speed study and analysis dated June
18, 2015 and made recommendation that the posted speed be adopted at the statutory limit of 30
miles per hour.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood,
Minnesota:
1. The Director of Public Works is hereby ordered to erect 30 mile per hour speed limit
signs on Galpin Lake Road.
2. The Director of Public Works will work with officials of Carver County to have
erected a "Reduced Speed Ahead" sign, in the northbound direction, on County Road
117 south of Galpin Lake Road,
3. Staff shall forward official copies of this resolution to the South Lake Minnetonka
Police Department, for purposes of speed enforcement of said posting.
