BOARD OF REVIEW Regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Shorewood April 22, 1968 MINUTES The last regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Shorewood was held on April 22, 1968, at Minnewashta School. Mayor McDougall and Councilmen Chandler, Cronin,. Freyermuth and Ivlurfin were present. Also present were the Village Attorney, William F. Kelly, and~illage Engineer, Bernie Mittelsteadt. Mr. James Kehoe, new Ol~er of Rachel's Boat Livery on Howard's Point, introduced himself and his son giving a brief resume of his previous employment and residence. He presented layout of the docks he proposes to drect. Since no drawings or plans of docks as installed by Rachel in former years were available at the meeting it could not be determined if he was increasing the dockage. The council approved his proposal to construct a cement ramp for boat launching in order to alleviate some of the congestion at the public fire lane acess just north of his property. Councilmlm I'v'iurfin, moved, seconded by Nayor McDougall, to <?vpprove the application for cigarette license for 1968 and the on and off 3.2 beer licneses to expire May 31, 1968, and also the renewal of the beer license for the year ending May 31, 1969. Motion carried with Mayor McDougall and Councilmen Murfin, Cronin, Chandler and Freyermuth all voting aye. There was more discussion on the Planning Program Proposal by Midwest Planning and Research Inc. Generally the Council felt a plan .as definitely needed to cope with the numerous requests for permits for mul- tiple dwelling than can be expected at such time that a sanitary sewer system is installed. However, with the information that the Village already has .available .fromthe Planners Report made in 1960 and from the material in the Village records, the council felt that the cost of Phase 1, Survey and Analysis, could be cut down considerably. The Village Attorney, Engineer and Clerk's office agreed with the Planner to see what reductions can be made in the original proposal. Council approved the date set by the County Assessor for the Board of Review meeting on the 1968 Assessed valuations, for Thursday, July 11, 1968, at 7.30 p.m. - .
