SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

A special meeting of the City Council was called by Mayor Frazier on
February 19, 1980, at 3:30 P.M. in the City Hall.
Present: Mayor Frazier, Haugen, Keeler and Naegele
Absent: Shaw (not advised of meeting)
Staff present: Attorney Kelly, Planner Nielsen
MEDICAL CENTER DEVELOPMENT
Gerald Mundt, Wallace & Mundt Architects, and Joe Gorecki, realtor,
presented proposed site plan for development of the Medical Center area
which consisted of family dwellings. Council suggested combining
elderly and family dwellings and informed applicant that a back -up well
would be necessary. °-
Motion was made by Haugen, seconded by Frazier, that the Mayor be given
approval to write a letter giving conceptual approval, for application
purposes, to the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency of the concept for
the combined elderly and family subsidized dwelling complex on property
located on Lake Linden Drive between Highway 7 and Yellowstone Trail
and that such concept approval is given provided the density of the
complex meets the requirements of the proposed ordinance now being
worked on in Shorewood, such density to be between ten and fifteen
units per acre. Motion carried unanimously.
OTHER CITY BUSINESS
Park maintenance equipment and its funding was discussed at this meeting.
Concerning the property east of Lake Linden Drive and south of platted
Maple (34- 117 -23 -33 -0011 and 0012), a motion was made by Haugen,
seconded by Naegele, to instruct the attorney to notify the owner to
remove the blue house, the white building and the boat. Motion carried
unanimously.
The council requested that the planning commission make a recommendation
to the council at its 2 /19/80 meeting regarding the Howards Point Marina
rezoning application.
The attorney apprized the council of possible problems with potential
Cathcart assessments by the City of Chanhassen.
Frazier moved, Haugen seconded, adjournment at 6:10 P.M.
