CITY OF SHOREWOOD
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

A Special Meeting of the Shorewood City Council was called by Mayor
Frazie~at 4:20 P.M. on Monday, March 17, 1980, at the City Hall,
pursuant to council action on March 10, 1980.
Present: Mayor Frazier, Keeler, Naegele, Haugen and Shaw.
Staff Present: Attorney ~e11y, Clerk Wiltsey
MEETING WITH METRO WASTE CONTROL COMMISSION
Attorney briefed the council on the meeting with the staff at Metro
Waste Control Commission relative to the additional service charges
explained in a letter from R. Dougherty, dated March 4, 1980. The
meeting was attended by ehgineer Jim Norton, attorney Kelly,
Jerome Studer and deputy clerk Sandy Kennelly.
The sewer board provided some flow figures, but the staff had not yet
been able to determine their accuracy. Agreed to continue further
review of the metro charges and when necessary data is available,
staff will have further discussion with the Metro staff.

Council agreed that it was evident that the sewer charges had to be
raised as soon as possible to operate for the balance of the year.
Moved by Keeler, seconded by Haugen, to raise the sanitary sewer
service rates to $37.50 a quarter, effective for services for quarter
ending June 30, 1980. Motion carried unanimously. Attorney was
instructed to prepare the formal ordinance for 2nd reading at next
meeting.
HOUSING STUDY
Council then reviewed the Comprehensive Plan Report No. 6 - Housing
Plan, and noted the recommended revisions. Agreed to complete the
study at the next meeting.
Moved by Haugen, seconded by Shaw, to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 P.M.
Motion carried unanimously.
