CALL TO ORDER:
The joint meeting of the Park Commission and Council was called to
order by Mayor Steve Frazier at 7:45 P.M.
ROLL CALL:
Council members present: Mayor Frazier, William Keeler, Tad Shaw,
Jan Haugen; Robert Naegele absent.
Park members present: Chairman Don Goettelman, Carol Chapman,
Gordon Lindstrom, Conrad Schmid, Roger Stein, and Bob Nygaard.
Chairman Goettelman of the Park Commission suggested Gary Karls
as the replacement for Irene Chanin. Discussion evolv~d around
the hope that the City keep representation spread around the City.
The suggestion was presented to the Council and will be acted upon
at the next Council Meeting. Councilman Shaw stated he had talked
to someone about the appointment and would discuss it further at
the Council Meeting.
The Park Plan was then addressed, referring to the September 1980
book:
Page 24 - 3rd paragraph, strike from "lives..." and add "looks to Lake
Minnetonka to fulfill a portion of their demarJfor recreation." Then
strike the rest of the sentence. Also strike the last sentence in the
paragraph.
Page 21-25 - Are these tests necessary? If they are, can we drop Test #1,
and combine #2 and #3. (Test #2, check - is it 7-14 or 10-15 acres of
Park land?)
Page 23 - in 1st paragraph, change the last line.
Page 25 - Change to reflect softball field in Manor Park.
Page 24 - Use table, not pick a specific # (i.e., using 12 acres.)
Page 27 - A note to be added - #5. The # of softball fields is "0" in
Shorewood .

the Bicycle Track too. Add after "Jlockey".

Moved by fun Goettelman, Park Chairman, that the changes be incorporated into
the final draft of the Park Plan. Seconded by Bob Nygaard. Passed tmanirrously
and recorrmended to the CmIDcil.
Keeler moved, Frazier seconded, that the Council accept the recorrmendation of
the Park Corrmission. Passed unanirrously.
Moved by Connie Sdu:nidt, seconded by Carol Chapman, to adjourn the joint
meeting at 10: 29 P.M. Passed unanirrously.
