M I NUT E S Pursuant to published and posted notice, the Shorewood City Council convened as the Shorewood Board of Review at 7:38 P.M. on May 20, 1981 in the Council Chambers to review the assessed valuation placed on real property in Shorewood. Full Council was in attendance. Also present were Bob Hanscom and Larry Miller, Shorewood assessors, and Don Monk, I{ennepin County assessor. The following property owners appealed to the Council for reductions in their assessed valuations: 'P.I.D. No. 32-117-23-14-0026 Marguerite Franzen 25780 Smithtown Road She appealed to the Council for reduction in assessed valuation. 1981 valuation at $50,100. Moved by Haugen, seconded by Rascop, to lower the valuation of the building to $28,000 and keep the land at $16,200. Motion carried. Rascop, Shaw, and Haugen - aye; Leonardo - passed; Baird - nay. -- P.I.D. No. 35-117-23-32-0025 JOM Moore 22340 Bracketts Road He appealed for a reduction from a current valuation of $197,700 on land and buildings (a letter was suhnitted for the record). Moved by Haugen, seconded by . Shaw, to lower the assessed value of the house from $131,200 to $126,500 and hold the value of the land at $66,500. Motion carried with 4 ayes and 1 nay. Rascop , Shaw, Haugen, and Baird- aye; Leonardo - nay. P.I.D. No. 35-117-23-14-0004 Dorothy Lane 5660 Christmas Lake Point Property had been reduced at the Board of Review last Spring and now the valua- tion had been raised to the amount of the original 1980 assessment. Moved by Haugen, seconded by Shaw, to reduce land to $50,000 and the buildings to $75,000 for a total of $125,000. Motion carried. Rascop, Leonardo, Shaw, and Haugen voted aye; Baird nay. P.I.D. No. 30-117-23-33-0033 Dale Pixler 4325 Enchanted Lane He appealed for reduction. Property raised from $117,000 to $163,700. Moved by Baird, seconded by Haugen, to table any action until June 1, 1981, 7:00 P.M., to get further date on Island properties and to enable assessor to review the Pixler property. No. 29-117-23-34-0009 James Jordan 5305 Elmridge Circle Mr. & Mrs. Jordan appeared contending that the properties in the Elmridge Circle area were not assessed equally; that the properties on either side of their house were of equal value for assessment purposes but his property was assessed much higher. Moved by Baird, seconded by Haugen, to table action on the Jordan property until 6:30 P.M on June 1, 1981, to have the assessor make the assessor's record cards available for the Council's review. Motion carried unanimous 1 y . P.I.D. No. 29-117-23-34-0015 Robert O. Naegele, Jr. 26640 Edgewood Road He appeared before the Council to appeal for a reduction in the assessed valuation on his property. Reduction had been made last year and now the valuation had been raised to the amount of the original 1980 assessment. Moved by Haugen, seconded by Rascop, to lower the valuation on the buildings to $187,000 and leave the land at $107,000 for a total of $294,000. Motion carried unanimously. P.I.D. No. 35-117-23-14-0009 Dr. Alec Janes 5630 Christmas Lake Point Dr. Janes appealed to the Council for reduction in the assessed valuation. After further review, moved by Haugen, seconded by Shaw, to reduce the land to $75,000 and to reduce the buildings to $115,000 for a total of $190,000.
