090381 CC SP Min CITY OF SHOREWOOD Special COUNCIL Meeting Thursday, September 3, 1981 COUNCIL CHAMBERS 5755 COUNTRY CLUB ROAD 5:00 P.M. MINUTES e CALL TO ORDER: A special meeting of the Shorewood City C01.mcil was called to order by Acting Mayor Rascop on Thursday, September 3, 1981, at 5: 20 P.M. in the Council Chambers. ROLL CALL: Present: Acting Mayor Rascop, Council Members Haugen, Shaw, and Leonardo. Staff: Attorney Larson and Deputy Clerk Sandra 1. Kennelly City Attorney Larson presented a letter dated September 3, 1981, siting five cases, Roberts Rules of Order, and three Attorney Generals opinions to support his recom- mendation to accept the vote of 2 to 1 as a quorum vote. Council accepted his opinion. Acting Mayor Rascop asked if voting members would like to make a motion to recon- sider their vote. After discussion, Shaw and Leonardo felt they didn't need to re- consider their vote. Haugen requested to have her vote changed to aye to make the vote unanimous to elect Rascop as Mayor. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion for appointment of new Council member was brought up. The Council determined that a letter should go out to the Planning Comnission and the Park Comnission together with all the City's residents. The Council will consider all interested persons at the September 28th Council meeting. e RESCHEDULING OF REGUlAR COUNCIL MEETING: Due to the holiday on October 12th, the regular Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 13th. APPOINTMENT OF AIMINISTRATOR/TREASURER: RESOLUTION NO. 38-81 Leonardo moved, Shaw seconded, that Ibuglas Uhrhanmer be appointed to the position of Administrator/Treasurer of the City of Shorewood. Motion carried unanimously. PURCHASE OF USED TANDEM DUMP TRUCK: Public Works Foreman Ibn Zdrazil requested that a used tandem dump truck be purchased. Rascop recommended the purchases of a vehicle for $9,500.00. ADJOURNMENT: Rascop moved, Leonardo seconded, to adjourn the special meeting of the City of Shorewood at 6: 30 P.M.
