CALL TO ORDER:
The special meeting of the Shorewood City Council was called to order
by Mayor Rascop at 6:30 PM, October 27, 1983, in the Administrator's
Office.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Mayor Rascop, Councilmembers Haugen, Shaw, Gagne
Staff: Administrator Uhrhammer, Finance Director Beck,
Risk Manager Dwight Tange, Risk Control, Inc.
Absent: Councilmember Stover
REVIEW OF INSURANCE BID AND CONSULTANT'S REPORT:
Mr. Tange of Risk Control, Inc. presented a report entitled "Review
and Recommendation for Insurance Program, City of Shorewood, Minnesota",
and answered questions asked by Council members regarding the Insurance
recommendations listed in the report. Insurance Bids evaluated in the
report were received from the following agencies and companies:
1) Robert's Insurance Agency, Inc.; American State Insurance Co.
2) The League of Municipalities
3) Roger Hennessy Agency; Home Insurance Co.
4) Ken Jarcho Ins. Agency: National Union Fire Ins. Co.
5) Frank Ademite Agency: Sentry Ins. Co.
The following three motions were made in response to Risk Control's
Report to the City.
1) Shaw moved, seconded by Haugen, to accept the consultants
recommendations to approve National Union Fire Ins. Co.,
Agent Mr. Ken Jarcho as the City's Insurer and agent for all
insurance lines except Workmens Compensation Insurance
effective November 1, 1983. Deductibles to be the same as
recommended in the Insurance Consultants report. Motion
carried unanimously.

Haugen moved, seconded by Gagne, to accept the bid for
Workmens Compensation Insurance, effective November 1, 1983,
submitted by the League of Minnesota Cities. Motion carried
unanimously.
3) Gagne moved, seconded by Rascop, to permit Administrator
Uhrhammer and Attorney Larson to bind Public Officials Liability
Insurance to cover prior acts with National Union Fire Insurance
Company, for the period of time deemed necessary. Motion carried
unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT:
Haugen moved, seconded by Shaw, to adjourn at 7:45 PM. Motion
carried unanimously.
