061284 CC BR Min CITY OF SHOREWOOD BOARD OF REVIEW TUESDAY, JUNE 12, 1984 COUNCIL CHAMBERS 5755 COUNTRY CLUB RD 7:30 P.M. e M I NUT E S CALL TO ORDER Shorewood City Council reconvened as the Shorewood Board of Review at 7:30 PM on June 12, 1984, in the Council Chambers to review the assessed valuation placed on real estate property in Shorewood. ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Rascop, Councilmembers Gagne, Stover, Shaw, and Haugen (7:48 PM) Staff: County Assessor Milt Hilk and Clerk Kennelly REQUESTS The following property owners came before Council for review of their assessed valuations: Robert Peterson 5474 Covington Rd. PID# 36-117-23-21-0002 The County Assessor reviewed the property in May of 19~4 and felt their valuation was correct. County had a valuation set at 4It $388,000 (land $168,000 - bldg. $220,000). Stover moved, seconded by Gagne to reduce to $289,400 (land $110,000 - bldg. $179,400). Motion carried unanimously. Lee Webster PID# 34-117-23-22-0024 5525 Timber Lane PID# 34-117-23-22-0025 The County Assessor has inspected the property and has reduced it to a total of $155,000 for the two properties in combination, from $158,400 on house parcel and 8,000 on lot. He recommended that the two parcels be joined. Webster indicated that this has been done but not completed at the County level. In 1984 the Council by Resolution No. 47-83 reduced his valuation to $296,000 ($110,000 land and $186,000 bldg.) for 1983 payable 1984. PID# 35-117-23-13-0029 reappraisal and reduced the valuation from Haugen moved, seconded by Gagne to reduce the building valuation to $62,000. Haugen withdrew the motion, accepted by Gagne. Stover moved, seconded by Shaw to reduce valuation to $145,000 ($90,000 land - $55,000 bldg.). Motion carried unanimously. We5tonka Dock - Bill Niccum 500 W. Lake Street PID# 34-117-23-21-0032 The County reappraised and reduced from $337,000 to $309,300. Gagne moved, seconded by Haugen to accept the County's reduced assessment. Motion carried unanimously. Robert Fayfield 5695 Merry Lane The County Assessor $107,600 to $80,000 PID# 35-117-23-14-0003 reappraised and reduced the valuation from ($75,000 land - $5,000 bldg.). Gagne moved, seconded by Haugen to accept the reappraisal of the County. Motion carried unanimously. Fredrick Corrigan Letter Mr. Corrigan's letter was read. The Council took no action in reference to this letter. ADJOURNMENT Moved by Rascop, seconded by Haugen to close the Shorewood Board of Review at 9:10 P.M. Motion carried unanimously.
