MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
The Special Council meeting of the Shorewood City Council was
called to order at 7:05 P.M., Thursday, October 27, 1988, in
the Conference Room by Mayor Rascop.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Rascop, Councilmembers Haugen, Stover, Gagne
and Brancel.
Staff: Engineer Norton and Administrator Vogt.
SHADY ISLAND BRIDGE REPAIR-BID CONSIDERATION
RESOLUTION NO.130-88
Engineer Norton stated to the Council that bids were opened for the
Shady Island Bridge Repair Project No. 88-3/4219 at 11:00 A.M. today
(October 27, 1988). Five bids were received ranging from a low of
$19,880.00 to a high bid of $29,600. Mr. Norton stated that the low
bidder is Park Construction Company. Councilmember Haugen inquired
if references have been checked. The engineer stated that they had.
Due to the upcoming election, it was mentioned that work will not
start until after November 8. Engineer Norton stated that the con-
tractor is ready to begin work. Mayor Rascop suggested contacting
the Mound Fire Department relative to access in case of fire. He
also suggested parking a fire truck or the City's water truck on the
Island if access is to be blocked. Notices of the work will be sent
to residents.
Gagne moved, seconded by Haugen to award the bid for the Shady Island
Bridge Repair Project No. 88-3/4219 to Park Construction Company in
the amount of $19,880. Motion carried unanimously - 5 ayes.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Rascop moved, seconded by Brancel to adjourn the Special meet-
ing of Thursday, October 27, 1988 at 7:09 P.M. Motion carried
unanimously - 5 ayes.
