MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Brance1 called the Adjourned Session of the Regular City Council Meeting of
February 11, 1991, to order at 7:30 p.m., on February 13, 1991.
Mayor Brance1, Counci1members Gagne and Lewis, and Acting Administrator Nielsen were
present. (Council member Daugherty arrived at 8:20 p.m.)
DISCUSSION - CITY ADMINISTRATOR POSITION
Acting Administrator Nielsen informed the Council that he had taken the lists of top ten
candidates from each Council member and compiled a list of four candidates on which there
was consensus among them. There was a three-way tie for a fifth position. After reviewing
the resumes of the applicants, the Council agreed on the following top five applicants (in
numerical order):
# 3 Carmen Kaplan
#69 Michael J. Mornson
#74 Donald E. Levens
#82 James C. Hurm
#83 Robert A. Museus
The Council agreed to conduct three, one-hour interviews on Tuesday, 5 March starting at
6:00 p.m., and two interviews on Wednesday, 6 March starting at 6:00 p.m.
Nielsen was then directed to send letters to the finalists informing them of the interview dates
and asking for references by 21 February.
SENIOR HOUSING COMMITTEE REPORT
Counci1member reported that the Senior Housing Committee had toured three elderly housing
facilities today. They visited Twin Birch in Spring Park, E1dercare in Hopkins and Park
Shore in St. Louis Park.
FINANCE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING CANCELLED
Finance Director Ro1ek stopped in to inform the Council that the Finance Advisory Board
meeting scheduled for earlier this evening had been postponed. The Board will meet next
Tuesday, 19 February.
