11-10-14 Canvassing Board MinCITY OF SHOREWOOD CANVASSING BOARD MEETING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2014 MINUTES 5755 COUNTRY CLUB ROAD CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER M-113_ AV Chair Zerby called the meeting to order at 5:01 P.M. A. Roll Call Present: Chair Zerby; Canvassing Boardmembers Hotvet, Siakel, and Woodruff, City Administrator Joynes; Clerk Panchyshyn; Finance Director DeJong, and Director of Public Works Brown Absent: Boardmember Sundberg B. Review Agenda Chair Zerby reviewed the Agenda. Hotvet moved, Woodruff seconded, approving the Agenda as presented. Motion passed 4/0. 2. CANVASS OF LOCAL ELECTION RESULTS Chair Zerby highlighted the results of the November 4, 2014, City of Shorewood election. Scott Zerby was elected mayor getting 2,459 votes. Jenifer Labadie, 2114 votes, and Debbie Siakel, 1962 votes, were elected council members. There were 5,121 registered voters at 7:00 A.M. on Election Day and 214 voters registered that day for a total of 3,660 voters (including absentee voters) on Election Day. The percentage of voters who voted was 68.80 percent. Boardmember Hotvet noted Shorewood's percentage of voters who voted was much higher than the Minnesota average. Boardmember Woodruff stated Shorewood voters should be proud. Woodruff moved, Hotvet seconded, adopting RESOLUTION NO. 14 -093 "A Resolution Accepting Local Results of the 2014 General Election ". Motion passed 4/0. Chair Zerby thanked Clerk Panchyshyn and the volunteers for their efforts. 3. ADJOURNMENT Hotvet moved, Woodruff seconded, Adjourning the Canvassing Board meeting for the 2014 General Election at 5:34 P.M., November 10, 2014. Motion passed 4/0.
