CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MEETING COUNCIL CHAMBERS

MINUTES
1. CONVENE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MEETING
Mayor Zerby called the meeting to order at 5:34 P.M.
A. Roll Call
Present. Mayor Zerby; Councilmembers Labadie, Siakel, and Johnson (arrived at 5:55 PM);
City Administrator Lerud; Director of Public Works Brown; Planning Director
Darling.
B. Review Agenda
Labadie moved, Siakel seconded, approving the agenda as presented. Motion passed 3/0.
2. ENGINEERING FIRM INTERVIEWS
Mayor Zerby said the purpose of the work session this evening was to interview engineers from
two firms. The third interview will be done at the first work session in September.
The council interviewed the following individuals:
Andrew Budde, Bolton & Menk
David Ahrens, Stantec
Following the interviews, Lerud presented a matrix on the proposed retainer fees, as well as
comparative hourly rates for various positions. Lerud said he also provided information about
what the city has paid for engineering services annually since 2016.
3. ADJOURN
Johnson moved, Labadie seconded, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed 4/0 and the
meeting adjourned at 6:46 P.M.
