The sixth meeting of the Shorewood Park Commission was called
to order by Jim Heiland, Chairperson, at 7s30 pm at Minnewashta
School. The meeting was in conjunction with the Village Council.
Those presents Breckheimer, Heiland, Drews3, Wyatt, Gray and
Congdon.
The minutes had not been received and will be ratified at the
next meeting.
Old Business
Bid for Hud Funds s
The bid for landscaping Badger Park was opened and discus-
sed. Smith Greenhouses had submitted the only bid. It came
_ considerably above the allocated funds.
The Park Commission dicussed priorities and made the follow-
ing Motion.
` at we accept the first five items on the proposal as listed
with the stipulation that if the Football Association funds
are not available, we will eliminate the #5.
Motion passed
In the spring, we will concern ourselves with guideposts,
Pathways, Small Shrubs and Play area.
Badger Fields
Volunteer labor was discussed and encouraged.
Painting of Boards will continue the week of Oct. 24.
Frank Kelly will have poles for lighting at Cathcart.
New Business
Trails
John Breckheimer will be our Trails Commissioner and will
attend meetings of the Joint Trails Commission. Members of
the group are Spring Park, Minitrista, Mound, Orono and
Shorewood. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every
month at Spring Park Village Hall.
Long Rage Planning
During the winter months, meetings will emphasize long -
range planning. Our next meeting will establish priorities
for spending of funds.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 29 , at 7 :30.
