John Gray visited us to make us aware of the dangerous situation
existin
at - 2adper with the Free Skatinp Rink so close to the Hockey
rink. ne little girl 4as been injured with a flying puck and he

, Ive discussed putting up screeninf-_ across the south end of the '
rink. -he screen will be supplied and the village will supply the
labor.
It will. not be a problem in the coming year because the free skatinr
area will be on the tennis court and is 'farther removed.
- A'in I' commented on the need for removirr the snow, from the newly
planted blue spruce trees in 7adger Field. the snow is from the snow
removal process in clearing the city roads. the information rrust be
passed on to those doing the work.
Railroad Right of Way
Rill Wyatt contacted the Chicago - Northwestern Railra.od to inquire
• about abandoning the railroad which runs through our city. They
could give us no information other that to say that tftey would
eventually do so.
Pill will contact the Real Estate section of the railroad to see
if we could use or lease the remaining easement not used by the
tracks for ? trails - - -one on each side of the track (one skiing-
one snowmobiling; horse and hiking in the summer)

that we bgin meeting as a commission the first Monday
motion: of each month and not hold a second monthly meeting unless
absolutely necessary.
Motion defeated.
Discussion on the motion centered around our long -range plan. It
was felt that when that was completed, monthly meetings would be
pursued.
2eginning next meeting, a member of the Planning Commission will
attend our meetings. There must be more attemp to coordinate
our efforst and share information.
In addition, Rhoda Brooks and the Excelsior Commission will inform
us of the steps they took to reach their long range plan.
